Luigi Carretta graduates in History at the University of Trento, defending a MA thesis on Italians enlisted in the French Foreign Legion from 1946 to 1961. He is conducting further research on this topic, with a specific focus on Legion enlistees from the Trentino- Alto Adige Region. He collaborates with the MITAG and the ReFF project.
